Effects of the Rock Bridge Ligament on Fracture and Energy Evolution of Preflawed Granite Exposed to Dynamic Loads

This paper aims to reveal the mechanical properties, energy evolution characteristics, and dynamic rupture process of preflawed granite under impact loading with different rock bridge angles strain rates. A series experiments were conducted along separate Hopkinson press bar (SHPB) testing system analyze study overall fracture process. Under load, peak stress increases increase angle rate, but gradually decreases. The also angle, there is an upper limit value; total input rate angle. It shown that higher unit dissipation energy, greater degree fragmentation. For loads, crack first initiates from wing end prefabricated flaw, preflaw closes gradually, finally propagates at locking section leading coalescence bridge. With fragmentation specimen asymptotically, average size decreases rate. suggested stability large rocked slopes controlled by locked section, understanding key slope instability prediction.
